CASE STUDY
Golden Bay Cement’s cost-effective upgrade with a bin vent filter and integral fan
DUSTEX worked with the in-house team at Golden Bay Cement on a partial upgrade of a dust collector. The cost-effective solution was to supply a bin vent filter with an integral fan that mounted directly on top of the waste handling system.
Background:
Golden Bay Cement takes health and safety seriously and planned to replace a 1.3 ton bulk bagging machine because the existing machine did not meet the standards that Golden Bay Cement strived to meet.
A new bagging machine would be designed in-house, using outside specialists for certain aspects when required.
The problem:
The existing bagging machine had a dedicated dust collector for dealing with the dust-laden air that discharged from the bulk bag during filling, however it was considered inadequate.
Certain features of the existing system worked adequately, therefore Golden Bay Cement and DUSTEX worked together in coming up with a practical and cost-effective solution.
The solution:
DUSTEX supplied a bin vent filter with an integral fan that would be mounted directly on top of a waste handling system designed by Golden Bay Cement.
The completed system is now fully functional and meets the requirements, plus it has capacity to spare.
